We will end our Daniel Fast on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 6pm by first having communion with our immediate family, then eating a meal with them, and finally, anointing the doorpost of our home with oil. This will place our home under the covering of the Lord, as God’s remnant and as His people.
In the Passover as described in Exodus 12:1-30, God encouraged the children of Israel to bring their families under the covering of the Lord by anointing the doorpost of their homes. This was symbolic of all who would occupy the home being placed under the protective covering of the Lord, especially during times of trials, tribulations, and trouble as we are experiencing today in our nation and the world. Because we believe that the end times, the last days, will be times of persecution for the people of God, we believe it’s imperative that the people of God understand what it means to place themselves and their families under God’s protective covering.
